Athletes as climate advocates? The case of Morton Thorsby

Writing as a sport philosopher, the author explored the opportunities and challenges of athletes as role models in advocating for environmentalism, using the example of Norwegain soccer player Morton Thorsby. In acknowledging the important, high-profile role of athletes in challening the norms around sport and environment, the author argued that the philosophical underpinnings around how we understand and conceive sport might have to be shifted if real change were to happen within the environmental concerns of sport.
