Assessing the ecological impact due to disc golf (2011)
This study evaluated the ecological footprint of disc golf. This was achieved by using three ecological markers of ecological degradation: soil erosion, soil compaction and density of vegetation cover. Data indicated that disc golf significantly increases soil compaction, which in turn contributes to more soil erosion and subsequently to a decrease in vegetation cover. These results are important for sport and recreational managers as they need to pay close attention to certa
